Breitling Superocean Chronograph II Model: A13341A8-BA81SS
The Breitling Superocean Chronograph II is a fantastic entry in Breitling’s sport diver line. The dial is the main focal point of the piece, and the contrast of colors, officially called black and red abyss, allow for very easy time telling even if the dial appears a bit cluttered at first glance.
The date window sits in place of the 3 o’clock marker and is easy to read with the red outline. The sub dials for the chronograph functions share the same red outline as the date window, and even though they are partially covered by the hour and minute hands at certain times they still serve their purpose and function well.
Not only is the dial one of the best I’ve seen with oversized indices and hands, but the combination of unidirectional bezel and chronograph make this a truly useful tool. The bezel is marked clearly, and the font is stylish and easy to read at the 15, 30, 45, and 60 marks.
The scratch resistant sapphire crystal window does its job as expected. The 44mm stainless steel case houses a screw locked crown with two gaskets which adds up to a generous 500m water resistant rating.
The stainless steel linked band is comfortable, and will hold up to the most rigorous of activity. Breitling does not disappoint with this sport diver entry.
