Tag Heuer Aquaracer Diver 500 Model: WAK2110.BA0830
From the aesthetics of the bezel to the glimmer of the sapphire crystal the Tag Heuer WAK 2110 Aquaracer is another in a long line of quality timepieces from one of the world’s most popular manufacturers.
Ceramic bezels have been a growing trend in the high end watch world, and Tag nails it with this version. The bezel is spaced out perfectly at increments of 10, and the silver paint added to the carved out areas makes it a very attractive focal point of the piece. The bezel pip at the 60 mark glows evenly, and the unidirectional turning is smooth as it clicks into place.
The sapphire crystal is flat and clear with an anti-reflective coating, which gives the dial great visibility. The horizontal grooves on the black dial add a certain elegance to an otherwise sporty watch, which fits perfectly with the raised hour indices and sword style hands. The contrast of black and white on the dial make this piece incredibly easy to read in any light, and the lasting green glow of the lume provides easy time telling at all hours of the night.
The stainless steel case contains a helium release valve as well as screw down crown and case back which gives the piece a generous 500m water resistant rating. The solid stainless steel bracelet is very comfortable, and allows for 3-position micro adjustments as well as the standard Tag diver extension.
The Tag Heuer Calibre 5 movement is a very good and reliable slightly modified ETA 2824, which in my experience should not gain or lose more than 5-6 seconds after a few days of not adjusting.
Overall this is an extremely elegant and solid choice in the world of sport diver watches and should not be overlooked.
